Hemingway Daiquiri
Ernest Hemingway's preferred Daiquiri variation — made without sugar because he was diabetic — relying instead on grapefruit juice and maraschino for complexity. Also known as the Papa Doble, it is tart, dry, and unmistakably Cuban.
Ingredients
- 2 ozlight rum
- ¾ ozgrapefruit juice
- ½ ozmaraschino liqueur
- ½ ozlime juice
- garnishlime wedge
Steps
- 1.Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
- 2.Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well-chilled.
- 3.Strain into a chilled glass.
