Rum Crusta
A rum riff on Joseph Santini's 1850s New Orleans Crusta — aged rum with orange liqueur, maraschino, lemon, and bitters served in a sugar-rimmed glass with a sweeping lemon-peel lining, an ancestor of both the Sidecar and the Margarita.
Ingredients
- 2 ozaged rum
- ½ ozorange liqueur
- ¼ ozmaraschino liqueur
- ½ ozlemon juice
- 2Angostura bitters
- garnishsugar rim and/or lemon peel
Steps
- 1.Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
- 2.Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well-chilled.
- 3.Strain into a chilled glass.
