Bourbon Sour
A bourbon-specific version of the classic sour, sometimes made without egg white but ideally with it for a silky foam. Bourbon's caramel and vanilla notes shine against fresh lemon juice and a light simple syrup sweetener.
Ingredients
- 2 ozbourbon
- ¾ ozlemon juice
- ½ ozsimple syrup
- 1egg white
- 3Angostura bitters
- garnishLuxardo cherry
Steps
- 1.Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker without ice.
- 2.Seal and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds to emulsify.
- 3.Add ice and shake again for another 10–15 seconds.
- 4.Strain into a chilled glass.
