Chicago Cocktail
A gilded early American classic — cognac with orange liqueur and bitters shaken and served in a sugar-rimmed glass topped with champagne, a precursor of the French 75 family and a drink of unabashed Gilded Age opulence.
Ingredients
- 2 ozcognac
- ¼ ozorange liqueur
- 1Angostura bitters
- 1 ozchampagne
- garnishsugar rim and/or orange peel
Steps
- 1.Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
- 2.Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well-chilled.
- 3.Strain into a chilled glass.
