Japanese Sour
A Japanese-inflected whisky sour that uses yuzu juice in place of lemon and honey syrup for sweetener — yuzu's complex citrus flavor (somewhere between grapefruit, lemon, and mandarin) is a natural partner for Scotch, and the egg white gives a silky foam finish.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ ozScotch whisky
- ¾ ozyuzu juice
- ½ ozhoney syrup
- 1egg white
- 2orange bitters
- garnishlemon twist
Steps
- 1.Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker without ice.
- 2.Seal and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds to emulsify.
- 3.Add ice and shake again for another 10–15 seconds.
- 4.Strain into a chilled glass.
